Timothy P. Dobson | Executive Director of Operations

New Mexico State University

Tim Dobson is the Executive Director of Operations for Facilities and Services at New Mexico State University. He received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from New Mexico State University in 1986. His facilities management career began in 1987 at the NASA White Sands Test Facility and continued until 2009 when he joined NMSU Facilities and Services. He leads the 263 employees that provide facility maintenance, grounds services, custodial services, and utilities to the campus. He also leads the annual NMSU Facilities Performance Indicator submission. He has actively participated in APPA, CAPPA, and RMA since 2012. He is a graduate of the APPA Institute of Facility Management and has obtained the APPA Certified Educational Facilities Professional certification. He has served on the APPA Membership & Community Engagement Committee, as the RMA Membership Chair, RMA President and he is currently the RMA Secretary.  He has presented at APPA, CAPPA and RMA annual conferences and had articles published in Facilities Manager magazine.

Patrick Chavez, CEFP, CEM CBCP | Executive Director Energy Services

New Mexico State University

Patrick Chavez is the Executive Director of Energy Services for Facilities and Services at New Mexico State University. He is currently an AEE Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and Certified Building Commissioning Professional (CBCP). He received an Associate of Applied Science in HVAC from New Mexico State University in 1990. His facilities management career began in 1990 with the HVAC department at New Mexico State University and became a Supervisor in this department in 1997. In 2001 he left New Mexico State University to take a position with an Energy Service Company as a Satellite Tracking Station (TDRSS) as a Mechanical Systems Specialist. In 2006 he returned to New Mexico State University as an Energy Manager, promoted to Director of Utilities and Plant Operations in 2015 and ultimately achieved his current position as Executive Director Energy Services in 2022. Patrick also serves as an adjunct Assistant Professor at the Dona Ana Community College where he has been teaching HVAC Trades since 1991.

Doug Stingelin, PE is the Director of Mechanical Engineering and has been with GLHN since 2004. He is also an adjunct lecturer in the department of Civil and Architectural Engineering at the University of Arizona. He is a member of ASHRAE, a LEED accredited professional, is Level III Thermographer, and is a Certified Commissioning Process Provider. Doug has extensive work experience in Higher Education with many projects located at the University of Arizona, Northern Arizona University, Arizona State University, New Mexico State University, University of Wyoming and Pima Community College.

Jon Ziegler II, PE,, CXT, BESA, LEED AP, GGP | Mechanical Engineer

Jon Ziegler is a Senior Mechanical Engineer and laboratory designer with GLHN Architects & Engineers Inc. He has been with the firm since 2006. Jon is also a board member of the Arizona Chapter of the International Institute for Sustainable Laboratories (I2SL). In addition to his work in system design, commissioning, and analysis, Jon has presented on a variety of topics for professional organizations including I2SL, RMA, APPA, and the Arizona Tri-university Association.

Henry Johnstone, PE | Mechanical Engineer

Henry Johnstone’s engineering expertise is sought after nationwide by clients wishing to design more sustainable and cost-effective utility infrastructure and building systems. Henry moved to Arizona in the late 1970s to pursue an interest in passive and active solar energy systems. He followed this path through a graduate degree at the University of Arizona that culminated in a two year study on the performance of salt gradient solar ponds at the Solar Energy Research Institute in Golden, Colorado. He then began a 30-year career in mechanical engineering at GLHN. His work at GLHN has centered on analysis, planning, design, and commissioning of building and campus energy systems for higher educational, healthcare, manufacturing, and municipal clients. He is a frequent presenter at the International District Energy Association College and University Annual Conference, National APPA, and the Rocky Mountain Association of APPA.
