Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff, Arizona 1
Northern Arizona University opened its doors in 1899 with 23 students, one professor, and two copies of Webster's International Dictionary bound in sheepskin.
In the 1950s, the university entered a period of exceptional growth. Students could now earn an education specialist degree as well as master's in the arts and sciences. Much of the expansion can be attributed to Dr. J. Lawrence Walkup, who has the distinction of serving the longest term as President (December 21, 1957 to June 30, 1979).
Empowered by the Arizona Board of Regents to provide educational opportunities statewide, the university now serves approximately 25,000 students at the Flagstaff campus, more than 30 statewide locations, and online offering nearly 150 combined undergraduate and graduate degree programs, all distinguished by an ongoing commitment to close student-faculty relationships.
Flagstaff is know for the small town charm with the resources of a bigger community. The scenic beauty of town and the university mesh together beautiful to make an unique and memorable town. Flagstaff is the hub of technological advancement in Northern Arizona, with a focus on biosciences, medical devices and renewable energy.

Grand Canyon National Park
The Grand Canyon of the Colorado River is a mile-deep canyon (1.6 km) that bisects the park. Even though the average distance across the canyon is only 10 miles/ 16 km, it takes 5 hours to drive the 215 miles / 346 km between the park's South Rim Village and the North Rim Village.The Grand Canyon is less than an hour away from flagstaff and is filed with plenty of hiking and scenic views.3

Casual business attire is suitable for all meetings, sessions, opening reception and theme dinner. Business attire is recommended for the closing banquet. Please remember to be bring a sweater or jacket, as temperatures in Flagstaff may vary.
Flagstaff is located in the mountains of Northern Arizona, and sits at a 7,000 foot altitude. late September temperatures have average highs of 71 degrees F. and cool nights that get down into the low 40's. After the sun drops behind the San Fransico Peaks, the temperature can drop quickly, so plan to bring a jacket to outdoor events.
